Nailsea let in a massive 10 goals
17th Nov: Nailsea 0 Weston St Johns 10

Nailsea's annual trip out in the Somerset FA Intermediate Cup pitted them against the strong Weston St Johns club from Weston-Super-Mare.

With a weakened squad and nobody on the bench Nailsea took to the field against a strong and youthful Weston St Johns team on Weston soil.
Playing pretty well for the first 20 minutes, Nailsea worked hard to keep Weston at bay, mustering a few attacks of their own. But as the half wore on, Weston took the ascendency scoring 3 goals by the break.

Nailsea heads started to drop along with a couple of players suffering injuries. The team was jigged around to accomodate the sicknotes and Weston took advantage, increasing in confidence by the minute.

By the time the sixth hit the back of the net, certain Nailsea players had pretty well much given up trying to compete. This helped Weston to increase the already embarassing score to a magnificent 10.

Hats off to Weston St Johns for a great performance, despite the lack of resistance at times. Back to the drawing board for Nailsea!
