17th Mar: Welstock 1 Nailsea 1
The top of the table clash between Nailsea and Welstock ended in honours even at 1-1, just the result that third placed Santos were hoping for.
The game was played in a good spirit, but was unfortunatley spoiled by a couple of serious loooking injuries to two key Nailsea players (Hewlett and Howard) that forced them both from the field of play. Jon Lansdown also struggled though the match after taking a knock to the ankle.

However, Nailsea were slightly the better team overall with a shot cleared of the line and a couple of good saves from the Welstock keeper. Mike Woodward has really mastered the fine-art of scoring a goal with another cross-come-shot that snuck in to put Nailsea one up.
Welstock deservedly scored the equalizer from a lovely through ball and also had a loud penalty claim turned down by the ref to their dismay.
Both sides went home mildly pleased but stinking to high heaven as the showers weren't working, but hey the cheese and onion rolls were nice.
Still 4 games left for Nailsea and 5 left for Welstock, so promotion still up for grabs for both teams. Wil Santos bottle it?
