3rd Mar: Hope 2 Nailsea 4
What a day for Nailsea as they turned up at filwood to find out the groundsman had locked up saying the pitches were unplayable.
After much discussion both teams headed back to Nailsea where following some puddle clearing and forking, they ended up with a playable pitch - just!

Hope somehow lost a man on the way to Nailsea and ended up playing with 10. It didn't show and Nailsea struggled against some of their slick passing. One good passing move saw Nailsea take the lead mid way through the first half and only some good defending kept them in the lead at half time.
The second half saw both sides play some good football with Hope the more consistant. With 20 mins to go Nailsea went two up with a well taken goal, however a few of the Nailsea lads visibly relaxed and Hope, never a team to give up, went for broke and shortly pulled a goal back. Hope kept pressing forward and Nailsea caught them on the break with mikenailsea firing in a couple of goals from the right to make it 4-1. Still Hope surged forward and again punished Nailsea for some sloppy defending to make it 4-2.
Whilst it was nice to win it was a shame that Hope didn't have a full team as I think the way Hope played today they would have got a good result with 11.
We always see the Hope game as a derby game and one of the games I enjoy most. Hope are a fantastic bunch of lads and definately one of the best sporting teams in the league in my opinion, and for the most part the sporting qualities of the teams was high.
